Studies on the Human serum Lipoproteins in Liver Disease and Diabetes by SDS-Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis

Abstract
|
|
|
The protein, triglyceride and cholesterol concentrations were measured and the abnormalities of lipoprotein were investigated by SDS-Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in the serum and the 3 major lipoprotein classes for the liver disease and diabetes.
The result is as follows:
1. The protein, triglyceride and cholesterol concentrations were increased for the most part of the 3 major lipoprotein classes and serum in diabetes and liver disease.
2. In SDS-Polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic pattern, the band I corresponded to VLDL, band Ⅱ to LDL, band Ⅲ to HDL.
3. The electrophoretic patterns of VLDL and HDL in liver disease and dia-betes showed the abnormal pattern in comparison to normal human being.
